Candidate Endorsements
EACH ELECTION CYCLE, THE METRO PAC INTERVIEWS CANDIDATES in city council, board of supervisor and state legislative races throughout the six-county Sacramento region. Candidates are endorsed based on their responses to a candidate questionnaire and during personal interviews.
Metro PAC bylaws do allow for early endorsements to candidates without an interview if one of two conditions are met: A candidate has been previously endorsed by the MetroPAC; or if the candidate has an existing relationship with the Metro Chamber.
Over the years, the Metro PAC has helped the Metro Chamber expand its relevance and reach with elected officials throughout the greater Sacramento region. Metro PAC recently administers three independent expenditure committees to raise funds and conduct independent campaigns in support specific candidates in key races.
For the June 8, 2010 Primary, the Metro PAC has made numerous early endorsements. View them here.
Other candidates for elected office are invited to participate in the 2010 Sacramento Metro PAC Candidate Endorsement Process. Our endorsement process consists of two parts: An online questionnaire and an interview.
1) Click here to request a Candidate Questionnaire.
2) In order to receive an interview by the Metro Chamber, you must complete the online questionnaire by March 15, 2010 at 5 pm. Upon receipt and review of your responses, you may be contacted for a 20-minute candidate interview. No candidate interviews will be granted nor endorsements made without a completed questionnaire. Interviews will be conducted between March 19, 2010 and March 31, 2010.
If you have any questions, please contact Michael Faust at the Metro Chamber at 916-321-9115.
