The Sacramento Regional Transit District (RT) TransitAction Awards for transit excellence will be awarded during the Sacramento Metro Chamber’s 2010 State of
RT Breakfast
on Friday, March 19 at the Sheraton Grand Sacramento. These annual awards recognize efforts in support of transit and will be presented to selected nominees that have made a significant and positive impact to public transit in the
Sacramento
region.
Public transit is an important part of planning and maintaining viable transportation options. In
Sacramento
, transit helps revitalize business districts, allows employers to tap into larger workforces, builds economic revenues and helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions that damage the environment. On an individual level, transit saves money and provides people with mobility options, freedom and opportunities.
The TransitAction Award recipients will be recognized among community leaders, elected officials and business professionals in the
Sacramento
region.
The TransitAction Awards offer an opportunity to highlight incredible contributions, as well as recognize and thank our regional partners, businesses, community leaders and elected officials for their dedication, support and hard work on behalf of public transit in the
Sacramento
region.

Organization/Agency of the Year
Transit Oriented Development of the Year
