SACRAMENTO'S FUTURE PROSPERITY DEPENDS ON THE QUALITY OF ITS LEADERS. Our business and community leaders help maintain the region's quality of life, promote the economic well-being of Sacramentans throughout the area and guide us during crises.

In 1985, the Metro Chamber decided to make an investment in the region's existing and future leaders by starting Leadership Sacramento. Each year, Leadership Sacramento informs a group of Sacramento's current and future leaders to the political, economic, historic, social and cultural issues integral to the well-being of the Sacramento region.
 
The 2008 Leadership Sacramento program is lead by a dynamic set of volunteers. The program's chair is Timothy Murphy of GenCorp Realty Investments. The program's vice chair is Keri Thomas of Sutter Health Sacramento Sierra Region and the program's second vice chair is Michael Smith of Teichert.

Chairing the Leadership Sacramento program is a minimum two-year commitment, with each volunteer leader being chosen by the current program chairs. Selected program chairs must also be graduates of the program.
