KEY THEMES IN CHERTOFF’S BREAKFAST ADDRESS AFFIRMS
CAP-TO-CAP PRIORITIES
As Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff addressed almost 400 Cap-to-Cap delegates during Monday’s welcome breakfast, our key priorities for this year’s Cap-to-Cap trip were affirmed.
Emergency response and disaster recovery planning in preparation for a flood or levee break were some central themes around Secretary Chertoff’s speaking points. Additionally, so convinced that Sacramento should be a priority for federal focus, Chertoff continued by recognizing the Sacramento region as a model for federal flood emergency response planning.
As the Metro Chamber continues to lead regional businesses toward increasing their focus on flood protection and disaster recovery planning, it is encouraging to know we have federal officials on Capitol Hill focusing on those same issues in safeguarding the well-being of our region.
