Latest Advocacy for Business
The Sacramento Metro Chamber stands up for business. When it became obvious that Nestle Waters was about to be shut down by the Sacramento City Council, the Metro Chamber fired up its advocacy efforts to protect an initial $3 million investment, 80 construction jobs and 40 long-term jobs. The Metro Chamber generated more than 800 letters of protest within 24 hours and went on the offensive and spoke to local media to demand that the city honor already given approvals.
And Tuesday night, the city let Nestle continue building its water bottling plant.
The Metro Chamber continues to stand up for business so entrepreneurs can be guaranteed that when a business comes to town or invests capital in a project the rules can’t be changed midstream on political whim. This kind of activity is what your dues investment helps pay for.
Here’s what the Sacramento Metro Chamber did on behalf of local industry to help preserve business:

About
AS THE LARGEST AND MOST INFLUENTIAL BUSINESS organization in the Sacramento region, the Metro Chamber champions positions on a range of issues from small business and regulatory affairs to transportation, workforce development and flood protection.
The Metro Chamber believes that issues impacting our economy and quality of life are regional in nature, crossing political and jurisdictional boundaries. That is why we encourage a cooperative approach to address and solve important issues. Regional cooperation gives business and civic leaders as a competitive advantage, enabling our region to more effectively compete with other regions across California and the nation for increasingly scarce State and federal resources.
An extensive series of Metro Chamber programs and events serve to inform, influence and promote our policy priorities each year including the annual Capitol-to-Capitol lobbying trip to Washington D.C.
