TRANSPORTATION ISSUES CONTINUE TO IMPACT THE SACRAMENTO REGION affecting the efficient movement of goods and people, making it one of the Metro Chamber's top public policy priorities.

A recent Metro Chamber Transportation Committee meeting explored the state of the region's bridges. They are in good shape, but need additional capacity by the year 2035 as a half million new jobs and 485,000 new households are projected. Metro Chamber Nominated Jim Earp Appointed to CTC

In 2004 the Metro Chamber led the successful passage of Measure A, the extension of a half-cent sales tax for 30 years to fund critical transportation improvement projects.

Sacramento Area Council of Governments updated its Metropolitan Transportation Plan in 2006, utilizing public input via individual workshops in local communities throughout the region.
