| | The Sacramento Blue Star Moms is a 501 c 3 organization. We were started in 1942 by a man named Captain George H.Maines. With over a 1,000 moms requesting to be a part of this organization during WW11 it became a fast spread organization throughout the United States. We were charted by Congress in 1960 as a veterans service to our men and women. We have chapters in 40 of the fifty states and growing stronger every day.
We send care packages to our men and women in harms way or on peace keeping missions. We support other veteran groups, ie, Mather hospital, donating vouchers to our veterans group for our homeless vets. Attending events throughout the Sacramento, Placer, and El Dorado Hills area, parades, doing fundraisers twice yearly, ie, Casino/BBQ night on Armed Forces Day. And in October we will be doing a Military Fall Harvest Craft Event which is open to the public.
We go to our Fallen Heros funerals, make and give condolence albums to their families, do at least two events to get all of our Gold Star Families together so they can meet each other and to let them know we are here and support them.
